This Citroen Hypnos Concept explores new avenues in the design of luxury ecological vehicles. HYmotion4 diesel hybrid drivetrain features a rear axle mounted electric motor. The Citroen Hypnos sleek, flowing body lines and high-set stance atop 22 inch wheels clearly denote a car looking for new driving thrills. The initial appeal of the exterior styling is confirmed inside. The cabin, with its original colours, makes the technology more human, as illustrated by the dreamlike clock, colour therapy and body hugging seats.

The Citroen Hypnos Concept is eye-catchingly proportioned at 4,90 m long, 2,17 m wide and 1,58 m high. From the pronounced wheel arches to the tautly drawn bonnet and raised waistline, all the body lines reflect strong but sophisticated muscle power. The feeling of movement is also conveyed by the powerfully sculpted flanks.

The shimmering interior makes a dramatic and eye-catching break with the deep grey bodywork. Onlookers will marvel at the rainbow hues of the cabin. Using premium materials such as leather and brushed aluminium, the Marque has produced an exceptionally refined cabin that creates a feeling of comfort and human values. The long, three metre wheelbase, combined with the original, staggered seat layout gives each passenger an astonishing amount of personal space. Never have the passengers in a vehicle of this size had this much room. Leg room, for example, is practically that of a limousine.

The Hymotion4 system of the Citroen Hypnos Concept combines a 200 hp (147 kW) 2 litre diesel engine mated to a six-speed electronic gearbox system with an electric motor located on the rear axle developing 50 hp for 200 Nm of torque. The Citroen Hypnos Concept diesel hybrid technology is designed to respect the environment. This is particularly true in the city in zero emission mode and on roads demanding successives acceleration and deceleration. In the second case, the hybrid mode limits consumption by using the two forms of energy together. By controlling fuel consumption and , hence, pollutant emissions, the Citroen Hypnos Concept boasts combined cycle consumption levels of 4,5 litre/100 km for CO2 emission of 120 g/km.
