Chevrolet Corvette C3 "Stars and Stripes" Greenwood 1971
John Greenwood is one of the most famous Chevrolet Corvette racing car developer and also a racing car driver. He prepared a Corvette C3 Greenwood which was raced in the USA between 1971 and 1973 with sponsorship of Goodrich Tire Manufacturer, in particular at Daytona 24 Hours and Sebring 12 Hours. The Chevrolet Corvette Greenwood also participated intensively in SCCA Championship in the USA.
In 1972, John Greenwood entered one special Corvette at Le Mans 24 Hours but it was badly damaged. In the 1973 Le Mans edition, two special Corvette were entered with 7050 cc all alloy GM ZL-1 V8 prodicing 700 hp at 6500 rpm. Only one car was eventually qualified and participated in the endurance race. The car was involved in a road accident near the circuit before the race.
