The 6th generation of the Corvette is the C6 introduced for 2005 model year. It is powered by a 6,0 liter V8 with peak output of 400 hp at 6000 rpm.
As if it was not enough, General Motors introduced the Z06 in 2005; it is the most powerful production Corvette ever proposed at a GM showroom. The ZO6 has a 7,0 liter V8 with peak power of 505 hp at 6.300 rpm. The Z06 get beefed up 6 speed manual transmission and clutch. The wheels are wider and the brakes are larger compared to standard C6. The weight has been contained by adopting an aluminium frame rather than original steel unit.
