Alfa Romeo 33 Navajo Concept by Bertone 1976
In March 1976, Bertone unveiled an exceptional styling design based on the Alfa Romeo 33 racing chassis. The tubular chassis was extended in wheelbase in order to allow an appropriate space for two passengers in this 2 seats sports coupe. The styling research was oriented at optimizing the aerodynamic and especially the road holding properties.
The Alfa Romeo 33 Navajo Concept by Bertone 1976 overall shape is simple and original in design. The adjustable rear spoiler is integrated in the rear futuristic shape.
The front end design is very clean and incorporates a front spoiler.
The engine is a V8 at 90°, 1995 cc. producing 245 hp at 8800 rpm.
The cabin design is interesting for the time with an instrument panel that summarizes the operating data on a single screen.
The headlamps are retractable. In this case the movement is horizontal on each side of the front fenders rather than the usual “pop up headlamp” solution. Concept cars sometimes propose solution that we can not imagine for everyday life.
