FERRARI 340 MM Barchetta by Vignale 1953
FIA sports racing car association changed rules for the first time with a world status championship. Ferrari responded with the 340 Mile Miglia (MM) for which Vignale proposed a barchetta body style. Propelled by a 4.101 cc 280 hp V12 engine, the car won the Giro di Sicilia with Villoresi and Cassani. Marzotto and Crosara concluded with great success the 1953 Mile Miglia. The announced kerb weight is 1000 kg while top speed is 270 kph.
One Ferrari 340 MM Barchetta Vignale was sold for US $ 4.730.000 at Gooding & Company Auction Sale in Pebble Beach in 2012.
