The Type 15 Peugeot was the first model from this Company to be produced by more than one hundred units. Between 1897 and 1900, Peugeot, indeed, produced 276 Type 15 Peugeot.
The Type 15 is equipped with the first engine designed and manufactured internally. It is a horizontal two cylinder 8 hp. Transmission is by four speed gearbox and chain drive.
Like all models made by Peugeot since 1897, it is equipped with Michelin tyres rather than plain rubber band covered wheels.
The Type 15 Peugeot is fitted with a double phaeton body and may be equipped with a canopy to protect the passengers from weather.
This model was very popular and also successful at export, for instance, in United Kingdom where one Type 15 was sold to Charles Rolls later to be founder of a prestigious Company Rolls Royce.
