Jaguar SS 100 1935 1938
The history of Jaguar sports car started with the SS90 propelled by 72 hp 2.7 Litre six cylinder engine. Only 23 examples of the SS90 have been completed. The first edition of the SS100 was propelled by a 2.7 Litres six cylinders with pushrod valve control. Between 1935 and 1936 the six cylinders was updated to 102 hp. In 1937 the Jaguar SS100 is proposed with a 3.5 Litres 125 hp six cylinders engine. The standing start for 0 to 100 kph (62 mph) is announced in 11 seconds. The Jaguar SS100 has become a classic car. The reference 100 goes for 100 mph (160 kph).
One 1937 Jaguar SS100 with 3.5 Litre (3486 cc 125 hp) was sold for US$ 1.045.000 at 2010 Pebble Beach Auction Sale by Gooding and Company. Only 116 3.5 Litre SS100 have been built.
