Toyota Fine-T fuel cell hybrid concept 2006
The Toyota Fine-T fuel cell hybrid concept wad presented at 2006 geneva Motor Show. It represents a new generation of concept car with electric hybrid propulsion where electricity is generated from hydrogen and oxygen (air) in a Toyota designed fuel cell. Efficient packaging allows interior space of a Toyota Avensis within a body of Toyota Yaris-like dimensions. easy access comes from gull wing doors and movable seat. The Toyota Fine-T concept has four wheel large angle steering and four wheel drive by in wheel electric motors.
The fuel cell hybrid propulsion is a further development of gasoline engine hybrid propulsion similar to the one proposed in the Toyota Prius. The fuel cell technology rely on hydrogen reacting chemically with oxygen from air for generating electricity. The Toyota Fine-T concept is equipped with 700 atmosphere hydrogen storage placed in the floor.
The Toyota Fine-T concept is equipped with peripherical monitoring cameras in order to provide the driver with a clear sight of any obstacle or hazard, eliminating blind spots. A front-view camera is positioned above the number plate and a rear view camera below the Toyota badge on the back of the vehicule. Left and right side cameras are located by the door handles.
