Mazda Nagare Concept 2006
The Mazda Nagare Concept was introduced at 2006 Los Angeles Motor Show. It represents a vision of a four passengers sports car that Mazda could imagine to produce around 2020.
Nagare means "flow" in Japanese and stands for the flowing lines of this styling exercise.
The driver is seating at the centre in front of the cabin, like in a single seat sports racer, for maximum visibility. The rear compartment is a wrap around lounge offering relaxed accommodations for three passengers. Access to the interior is provided by two double length doors that hinge forward and up like the wings of a butterfly.
Proposed propulsion is by hydrogen fuelled rotary engine, like a few RX-8 development prototypes testing this advanced powertrain technology in Japan.
