Peugeot Prologue Hymotion4 Hybrid Concept 2008

The Peugeot Prologue Hybrid Concept represents a preview of the Peugeot SUV that will be put on the market during 2009. For the occasion, Peugeot illustrates several propulsion solutions for the future. The HYmotion4 system represents an hybrid solution to personal transportation where the next generation HDI FAP diesel propulsion is combined in hybrid technology with an electric motor powering the rear wheels. The 2.0 litre HDI FAP engine operates on front wheel drive with 120 kW/163 hp at 3.750 rpm and 300 Nm while a permanent magnet synchronous motor produces 27 kW/36 hp on rear wheel drive. This combination with a diesel engine driving the front wheels and an electric motor powering the rear wheels provides a spacious yet compact 147 kW/200 hp car with a particularly low level of CO2 emission of 109 g/km in the combined cycle or zero emission in electric mode only.

The Peugeot Prologue Concept represents a SUV architecture with four-wheel drive propulsion in dual mode and with a modern typical Peugeot styling design. The HYmotion4 technology implementation shows in 1 the electric motor driving the rear wheels, 2 high voltage battery pack, 3 powertrain management unit, 4 power electronics ((inverter and converter), 5 high voltage Stop and Start, 6 electronically controlled 6-speed manual gearbox and 7 2.0 litre HDI FAP engine driving the front wheels.
