Peugeot Type3 quadricycle 1893
Armand Peugeot produced in 1889 with Leon Sepollet a two seats tricycle propelled by a steam engine; In 1890 Armand Peugeot started producing a quadricycle propelled by a petroleum gas engine under Daimler license. In 1891 it was launched as the Peugeot Type 3, the first Peugeot produced in serie at 64 units between 1891 and 1894. the Peugeot Type 3 featured four places "vis à vis" (face to face) and was equipped with 4 fenders, two front headlights and a weather cover. A Peugeot Type 3 with two occupants followed the cyclist race Paris-Brest-Paris running 2.045 km at an average speed of 14,71 kph without trouble.
